Thankfully, my company gave me the opportunity to go to trainings and try out. The team was in the second division and called Juventud Independiente. They said they would sign me. I continued to work and also play soccer, but I couldn’t dedicate enough time to both things. I neglected one to focus more on the other. In the end, I decided to continue on the soccer path. The rest had been personal growth and I have overcome many things that have made me who I am today.

My brother also is a professional soccer player. We played together at Juventud Independiente and started to make a name for ourselves. Everyone spoke about the Ceren brothers. We made the difference on the team and always worked hard to fight for our dreams. As I said, since we were little we dreamt about playing soccer and now that we had the opportunity, we didn’t want to throw it away. We wanted to work hard and see what we could achieve, including promotion to the first division.

We both scored in the final to get the promotion. I scored the second goal and he scored the third. These are really important memories for me, and now when I have the opportunity to play with him on the national team, I remember the times that we played together and feel this chemistry and connection that we have as brothers. I know where he wants the ball, the movement he is going to make and where he is going to run. That connection can be unexplainable at times.
