On Saturday, June 9, the Earthquakes hosted their first-ever Amateur Photographer Night, inviting non-professional photographers to shoot the team’s match vs. LAFC and share their favorite images on the Quakes’ website.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do, etc.:
I am from the Almaden area of San Jose. Student at Leland High School.
What first got you into photography?
When I was young I saw my Grandfather use a camera to photograph our cat. I was so young I didn’t know what he was doing and curiosity took over. When he taught me how to use the camera is when I really got into photography.
Favorite things to photograph and why?
I like landscape photography and urban. I am still developing my specific style so I have a lot of experimental photographs in my portfolio.
Why did you want to participate in this Quakes event?
I participated in this Quakes event to see the match from a different perspective than from a fan up in the stands. I also wanted to test the waters of Sports Photography.
Where can people view your photos?
People can view my work on my Instagram account @nate_bailey_photo
