On Saturday, June 9, the Earthquakes hosted their first-ever Amateur Photographer Night, inviting non-professional photographers to shoot the team’s match vs. LAFC and share their favorite images on the Quakes’ website.
Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from, what do you do, etc.:
Hi! I am Victoria and I am a creative based in the Bay Area. I grew up in San Jose, studied at Azusa Pacific University. When I graduated college, I received my first DSLR as a present from my mom. I now shoot lifestyle portraits, live music, travel and food with my Canon 5D. When I am not at working you can find me serving at my church, at my yoga studio, salsa dancing, gardening with my grandmother or playing at the park with my dog Bella.
What first got you into photography?
My photography journey began documenting my adolescent adventures with my first film camera, a Canon Elf, at the age of 12.
Favorite things to photograph and why?
I love to photo journalistically capture iconic moments of people working in their passions, be that a musician on stage, an athlete on the field, or a chef in their kitchen.
Why did you want to participate in this Quakes event?
I wanted to participate in the Quakes event because I thought it would be a fun experience and a way to connect with a different part of the San Jose community.
Where can people view your photos:
