On Saturday, June 9, the Earthquakes hosted their first-ever Amateur Photographer Night, inviting non-professional photographers to shoot the team’s match vs. LAFC and share their favorite images on the Quakes’ website.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am 19 years old and I am from Monterey, CA. Born and raised. I am a full-time student at Monterey Peninsula College studying business marketing. In my free time, I enjoy photographing weddings, sports and landscapes.
What first got you into photography?
I first got into photography for fun with my friends, but after continued practice of the craft, I grew a love for portraiture.
Favorite things to photograph and why?
I love weddings and portraits and would consider them amongst my favorites because of the detail and time that is dedicated to every shot. I love being able to capture a moment that can bring back a special feeling for someone every time they look at the image.
Why did you want to participate in this Quakes event?
I wanted to participate in this event because it was an opportunity that not everyone gets and when you are presented with an opportunity like this, you always take it and do your best. I am a firm believer in that.
Where can people view your photos?
People can view my images at estebanbarajas.com or instagram.com/stteezzy.
